Grant Funding Update:

Our website is still under construction – but those time sensitive information might be of use to many in our Quarter.  Please see this note from our clerk:

Nurturing Faithfulness is a multi-generational faith and
leadership program designed to help Friends explore ways to
meet God more deeply, hone methods of discernment, reach for
fuller faithfulness, and ultimately bring these gifts and
strengthened abilities home to local meetings and beyond.
At the last gathering of Salem Quarterly Meeting those gathered approved a proposal to make funding available to meetings: The funds committee will fund grants of up to $1,000 per Monthly Meeting in Salem Quarter that wish to support participation by their Members in the 2019-2020 Nurturing Faithfulness Program. Meetings that minute a request for these funds to be used this way will forward this request to the clerk of the Quarter and the Funds Committee. The Funds Committee recommends authorizing the Funds Committee to approve any such grant applications by Monthly Meetings on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability of funds.
Requests for funding should come from MEETINGS to the Clerk of the Funds Committee Morgan Wilson <dmorganwilson@gmail.com> and Kristina Keefe-Perry Salem Quarterly Meeting Clerk <salemqm@neym.org>

Salem Quarterly Meeting of New England Yearly Meeting consists of 9 monthly meetings: Acton, Amesbury, Beacon Hill, Framingham, Friends Meeting at Cambridge, Fresh Pond, Lawrence – Andover, North Shore, and Wellesley, located in a geographical area centered around Boston, Massachusetts. There are also several worship groups and one preparative meeting, South Shore Meeting, under the care of the constituent monthly meetings. For information about these meetings and links to meeting websites go to our Find a Meeting page.

We are in the process of migrating content (minutes, accounts of previous gatherings) from our old webpage.  If you cannot find what you are looking for on this new site – please check out this link!

Salem Quarter meets officially three times a year, usually on the fourth Sunday of October, January, and April, to conduct business and share in programs for spiritual renewal. Under current practice the granting of money from the funds entrusted to Salem Quarter occurs only at the October and April meetings. The January session is reserved for brief reports from previous grant recipients and a longer program for spiritual renewal.

Since the summer of 1999 Salem Quarterly Meeting has also gathered informally for meeting for worship and a picnic lunch on a Sunday in July or August.

At this time, Salem Quarter has two internal committees: the Salem Quarter Funds Allocation Committee and Salem Quarter Ministry and Counsel.  The Quarter appoints representatives to the Beacon Hill Friends House Board and to the Massachusetts Council of Churches.
